News: Honda to unveil facelifted CR-V at Paris show
Features uprated version of economical 1.6-litre diesel
SO THAT it looks its best for Paris, the Honda CR-V has been given a facelift, the addition to the range of a more powerful diesel engine and a new nine-speed automatic gearbox providing lower emissions.
The refreshed SUV aims to take the fight to rivals such as the recently launched second-generation Nissan Qashqai and the new Toyota Rav4. Styling updates include new headlamps and front grille and, at the rear, a refreshed tailgate design and LED lights.

Under the skin Honda has added a tweaked version of its popular 1.6-litre diesel engine, producing 156bhp and 258lb ft torque. It will power four-wheel drive versions of the model and replaces the 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Combined with the new, optional nine-speed automatic gearbox it produces 135g/km CO2, 20% less than its five-speed automatic predecessor.
The standard 1.6-litre diesel, producing 116bhp, will be reserved for two-wheel drive models.
