One-of-a-kind Mini celebrates Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Royal wedding — and you could buy it

MINI IS renowned for its mixing of proudly-British themes with contemporary flair and bold design, so it should come as no shock that it has created a (vaguely fawning) special edition livery to celebrate this weekend’s wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
What’s perhaps more interesting is that the bespoke Mini Cooper S could be yours, if you place the highest bid at auction.
It probably won’t be the most affordable Mini but the money will be going to a good cause —the Children’s HIV Association (CHIVA), which supports children and young people living with HIV across the UK and Ireland.

Mind you, with the fact that it is a genuine one-off celebrating a once-in-a-lifetime Royal wedding, it’s likely to be a decent investment for someone. Then again, they’re best off being a true Royalist, given the numerous Harry and Meghan wedding bespoke features throughout.
The roof graphic brings together elements of the Union Flag and the Stars & Stripes — the bride and bridegroom’s national flags.
The indicators on the front wings have been 3D-printed and carry the initials M and H with a heart and rings.
And when the car is opened, the words “Just Married ”are project onto the ground in front of the driver and passenger doors.
Inside, the first names of the bride and groom, plus the wedding date and good wishes to the newlyweds have been added to the large trim strip ahead of the front passenger seat.
In addition, roof graphic-inspired accent is integrated into the trim strips in the doors, behind the steering wheel and into the head restraints.
The custom paintwork is Crystal White with Silver-blue accent strips, while blue-black-tinted chrome elements, feature inside and out, such as on the frame for the hexagonal radiator grille, the door handles and the surrounds for the headlights and rear lights.
The rear lights feature the Union Flag design, while dark-blue matt metallic wheel rims put the finishing touches to the design.
“As an iconic British brand with almost 60 years of history in the UK, we are pleased to mark the royal wedding with this special charitable gift,” explains Oliver Heilmer, Head of Mini Design.
He added: “Its specially designed roof graphic combines with 3D-printed personalised interior and exterior details as well as special embroidery to make this a Mini like no other.”
Fitted with the same turbocharged 2-litre petrol engine as the standard Cooper S, this special edition won’t be short of poke, either, with a top speed of 145mph and 0-62mph time of 6.5 seconds.
Following the royal wedding this Saturday, the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Mini will be handed over to CHIVA for public auction.
According to CHIVA’s website, the couple have asked that anyone who might wish to give them a wedding gift instead considers supporting one of seven charities, personally chosen by the couple, which includes CHIVA.

Dr Amanda Williams, chair of CHIVA, said: “We are grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness of the complex issues for young people living and growing up with HIV, including the psychological effects of taking daily medication and dealing with the stigma that unfortunately still exists.
“We are a very small charity and through our work we support over 1,000 young people living with HIV. All donations will make a significant difference to our programmes of work and lead to direct improvements in the lives of these young people.
“We would like to wish Prince Harry and Ms. Markle every happiness for their wedding day and life together.”
