Dramatic bodycam footage shows police saving driver from drowning after lake crash
Driver had fallen asleep at wheel
THREE police officers dove into a Sugar Land, Texas, lake to save a female driver who had crashed into the water late on May 5.
This body camera footage shows the officers jumping into the water and breaking open the car window to save the woman.
The accident occurred in a lake located by the intersection of Meadowcroft Boulevard and Westcott Avenue that is known for alligators and snakes, according to the police statement.

The driver of the vehicle said she had fallen asleep at the wheel and lost control of her car. She was uninjured, and one of the officers was treated for minor cuts, according to Sugar Land Police Department.
