Eat your heart out Bugatti and McLaren
WHEN YOU are building bespoke supercars and must find your niche amongst Bugatti, Ferrari and Lamborghini, one way to stand out of the crowd is to fit technology that no other car maker uses. Zenvo, a Danish company, has done just that – using a crazy tilting rear wing that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
Shown here on video, the massive rear wing is fitted to the new Zenvo TSR-S, a supercar that was revealed at the Geneva motor show, in March.
Doubtless the moving wing is needed to pin the car to the ground and help the rear-wheel drive car ensure all 1,177bhp from its twin-supercharged 5.8-litre V8 engine don’t go to waste in a cloud of tyre smoke.

It is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 2.8 secs and the top speed is said to be 205mph. It weights just over 1,500kg.
But it’s the car’s ‘centripetal wing’ that really grabs attention.
It is able to adjust its angle on the move, much like the wing of a Bugatti or McLaren supercar, to make the car more stable when slowing or more slippery at high speeds. But it’s the way it can also tilt through the horizontal, lowering one corner toward either of the rear wheels, that is novel.
Zenvo says the term ‘centripetal’ refers to a centre-seeking force: “When the TSR-S corners the wing rotates around the car’s longitudinal direction generating an inward force together with the conventional downforce. This boosts inner tyre grip and cornering stability,” says the company.
Does it work? You’d have to ask the driver, filmed putting the car through its paces at the TT Circuit Assen, in the Netherlands. All we know is it looks wild.
