Man dies after horror lorry crash and blaze on M40 motorway
Clean-up operation lasted until the afternoon
WARWICKSHIRE police closed a section of the M40 this morning following a fatal collision involving three lorries.
A lane on the northbound route and the entire stretch of southbound road between Junctions 15 and 16 were closed by emergency services, according to the police, allowing Warwickshire Fire and Rescue to tackle blazes caused by the crash.
One truck driver was confirmed to have died at the scene, with a second being treated in hospital. A third motorist involved in the crash emerged unscathed from the incident.
Within the #M40 northbound delays there is a broken down HGV closing 2 (of 3) lanes between J13 and J14. Recovery are en route. Please approach with caution. We’ll keep you updated. pic.twitter.com/uz7QDyVVFk
