Porsche 911 from crime drama The Bridge to be sold at Goodwood auction

All sale proceeds will go to charity

A PORSCHE 911 that featured in the crime drama The Bridge will be auctioned at next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Not only was it the choice of wheels for actress Sofia Helin’s character Saga Norén in the Scandinavian noir show, the Porsche 911 S also has an unusual back story. It was chosen for the show in part because of its “Jäger Grun” paint. But the olive green Porsche was originally sold in 1977 in the United States, before being imported to Sweden in the late 2000s.

Porsche aficionados may also find this 1977 911 S spec to be of interest. As well as sporting that very Seventies paint job, the Porsche is also among the last of the original Porsche 911s to be made before the wider body style was introduced. The engine’s gutsy, too – the 2.7-litre six-cylinder unit pumped out close to 180 horsepower when new.

Set to go under the hammer at next month’s Bonhams auction at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Porsche 911 S is estimated to sell for somewhere between £20,000 to £30,000. Considering its small-screen provenance, though, it’s possible it could end up selling for quite a bit more.

And if you need you another reason to bid for this star car.. all the proceeds generated by the 911’s sale at Goodwood will be donated to WaterAid — an international charity that assists communities in developing countries by helping to establish clean and safe water supplies.
