Police-taunting motorcycle rider hospitalised after 100mph crash
Rider was going twice speed limit, police claim
POLICE in Florida have released terrifying footage of a motorcycle rider smashing into a car on a highway.
The footage shows Ryan Decubellis, 21, crashing his Suzuki motorbike into the front of the Kia Optima of Scott Colletti, 54, launching him from his bike.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, which has released the video to highlight the dangers of speeding, claimed Decubellis was travelling at speeds in excess of 100mph when the crash took place — on a road with a 55mph speed limit.
The Sheriff’s Office also claimed he had been taunting patrolling police officers. Early on in the footage, Decubellis is heard revving his engine as he passes a marked police car.
Decubellis was hospitalised with serious injuries while Colletti was treated for minor injuries, according to the police.
